Wilmington, Ohio — Pamela Whitney Gray will present The Americanization of the Family Barn, at the Clinton County History Center June 10 at 7 p.m.

Growing up on a farm south of Mount Vernon, Gray spent much of her youth playing, working and enjoying being in the family barn.

Under the tutelage of the original Barn Consultant, her father Charles. W. Whitney, she became an expert in her own right and earned the title, The Lady Barn Consultant.

Barns can be historical icons of our heritage. Each barn is an individual, from its ridge beams, swing beams and marriage marks to its braces, girts and saw kerfs.

In her presentation, Gray will discuss the cultural influences from the Old Country and the environmental influences the settlers faced after they arrived in the New World.

Sponsored by the Clinton County Barn Quilt Project, this presentation is offered to the community at no charge.

The Clinton County History Center is located at 49 E. Locust St. Due to limited seating, reservations are appreciated. To register call 937-382-4684.
