Powers Oil Co. adds propane to its growing inventory

ALLIANCE, Ohio — Powers Oil Company, owned and operated by Scott and Toni Powers, in Alliance, Ohio, is offering its customers and new location and expanded product line in 2016.

History

The oil business is deeply rooted in its connection to customers and community dating back to 1952, when Toni’s grandfather, Jay Haynam, began in the fuel oil distribution business. Toni learned the ins and outs of the oil business from a young age and Scott was offered a position in the family oil business, after moving to the Alliance area with Toni in 1994. In 2005, the company became an independent fuel oil company referred to as Powers Oil Company Ltd. Since 2005, the company has continued to grow steadily.

What’s new?

In December of 2015, the propane product line was initiated and the company began doing business as Powers Oil and Propane. As a result of continual growth, the company will be moving in the fall of 2016, to a new facility off McCrea Street and Sawburg Avenue in Alliance. The new location will allow customers to purchase lubricants, tank maintenance items such as hoses, filters, and nozzles; propane items such as carbon monoxide detectors; and fill their propane cylinders.

In addition, Powers Oil and Propane plans to expand into selling propane generators and propane related items used in the home or small business.

Quality service

Powers Oil and Propane saw a need to provide the same quality service and competitive pricing in the propane industry that had been provided in the fuel and gas industry. Existing fuel and gas customers that also use propane are thrilled they can now use Powers Oil and Propane for both services and new customers can’t say enough about how impressed they are with the quality of service and savings they are receiving.

In five years, Powers Oil and Propane wants to be the name individuals and businesses think of first when seeking a fuel and propane provider. The company’s biggest challenge is making individuals and businesses in the area aware of all the products and services Powers Oil and Propane provides.

Products include: propane, heating oils, gasoline including premium and racing gas, lubricants, bulk oils, solvents, antifreeze, as well as gas, diesel and propane tanks and accessories, including: pumps, hoses, nozzles, filters and propane dispensers.
Services include: Gas and diesel tank installation and maintenance, propane tank installation and maintenance, lubricant (packaged or bulk) and antifreeze delivery, propane leak testing, fuel and propane delivery, propane and forklift cylinder exchange or on-site filling and grain drying.
