RICHMOND, Ohio – A Handel reverse painted lamp sold for $8,900 at an auction of the Edward Stone estate by Gary W. Cain.
Other lamps were top-selling items, including a slag glass lamp with metal overlay selling for $1,050 and caramel slag glass lamp with a bronze base for $1,000.
A three-section glass front bookcase with burl veneer and lion heads sold for $1,750; a Victorian sideboard with applied carvings, $900; a marble-top parlor table that was heavily carved and pierced sold for $800; a small marble top parlor table, $350; and an oak washstand, $400.
Two auction rings ran most of the day. Antiques and collectibles were sold in the front while the tools and lawn equipment sold from the backyard.
