BURTON, Ohio — The Geauga Beef and Swine 4-H Club met Aug. 16, outside at the fairgrounds. Members shared reports on their projects about chicken washing, poultry diseases and poultry showmanship. The safety topic was about power outages and food safety.

This year, the Geauga County Fair will be a junior fair only. Buyers can choose to bid online or in-person for the sale, scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sept. 5 in the arena. The club has 14 hog projects and seven beef projects going through the sale along with many turkeys and pens of chickens.

Animals will be sold by the head rather than per pound, which is a change for this year. For information on the Geauga County Junior Fair livestock sale, visit geaugafair.com.
