Secretary’s bookcase gets $1,000 bid

CANAL FULTON, Ohio – Auctioneers Gene Kiko and Joe Gordon worked two rings Oct. 20 as they sold a variety of items for Greg and Dorothy Mayberry of Canal Fulton.

The auction was attended by buyers from Ohio, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, West Virginia and California.

High-selling items included several pieces of marble, ranging in price from $50 to $950; several Maxfield Parish prints up to $650; and a Clewell vase for $525.

Furniture that passed through the sale ring included a secretary’s bookcase, $1,000; hump back chest, $510; primitive blanket chest, $625; and oak stack bookcase, $900.

Holiday items brought high bids, including a Christmas composition set that sold for $325; a child’s bugle, $275; and a Christmas battery-operated toy, $135.
