Homemade Croutons

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of any crusty bread (French, sourdough, Italian) cut into 3/4 inch cubes
  • 4 Tbsp of melted butter or olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of parsley, dried.
  • 1/2 tsp of peppered
  • 1 cup of shreeded or grated cheese, Parmesan, Asiago, and Sharp Cheddar all work well.

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mason jar, add melted butter or oil and seasoning and shake to mix.
  3. Place bread cubes in a large mixing bowl. Pour mixture over bread cubes. Add in the cheese and toss to coat and evenly distribute the cheese.
  4. Place coated bread cubes in an even layer on your baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, stirring and turning after 5 minutes.
  5. Let cool completely. Then store in an air tight container for up to 1 week.
