Sauted Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 1 t. salt
  • 1/4 t. ground white pepper
  • 1/2 t. paprika
  • 1/2 t. sugar
  • 1/4 t. dry mustard
  • 1/8 t. ground turmeric
  • 1/2 t. garlic powder
  • 1/4 t. onion powder
  • 1 C. flour
  • 20 to 25 large mushrooms, halved lengthwise
  • 1/2 C. buttermilk
  • 4 T. butter
  • 2 T. vegetable oil

Directions:

  1. Combine the salt, pepper, paprika, sugar, mustard, turmeric, garlic powder, and onion powder with the flour.
  2. Dip the mushrooms in the buttermilk and roll in the flour mixture.
  3. Melt the butter with the oil in a saute pan or skillet and saute the morels until crisp and brown on all sides.
