There is nothing like riding a motorcycle. Farm and Dairy loves it, and was pleased to join Russell Ety of Newark, Ohio, as he participated in the Sturgis, S.D., Bike Week, and then visited the Crazy Horse Monument (pictured), Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park. Thanks for bringing us along!
History trips are a great time, and Farm and Dairy was thrilled to tag along when the Perkins family (pictured left to right: Anna, Abby, Andrew and A.J.) from Medina, Ohio, visited the Civil War battlefield of Gettysburg, Pa.
They may be on a girls’ weekend out, but they couldn’t leave Farm and Dairy at home (maybe because they couldn’t leave its editor, Susan Crowell, at home, either!). Yvonne Bennett (L-R), of Salem; Jane Moff, of Columbiana; Debbie Grammer, of Sebring; Lori Moff, of Boardman; and Dianne Shoemaker, of Salem, felt at home in [...]
When faithful readers of Farm and Dairy, Howard and Doris Caldwell of Venango, Pa., visited Old Faithful at Yellowstone National Park, Wyo., in September, Farm and Dairy was right there with them.
Not everyone gets to experience Farm and Dairy — and not everyone gets to travel the world, so we appreciate our readers taking the time to share us, and their travels. That is exactly what Janet Anderson from Greenfield, Ohio, did when she visited these Andean villagers in the Lake Titicaca high plateau in southern [...]
Celebrating an anniversary is a special moment and one Farm and Dairy was honored to attend when Kathleen Plyler and her husband, from Dempseytown, Pa., visited Bird in Hand, Pa., for their 40th anniversary. Congratulations to both of you.
Sometimes you have to show the rich and famous what they are missing. Harold and Maureen Campbell from Diamond, Ohio, did just that when they visited the 100,000-acre ranch of Bill Galt in Montana. Naturally, they brought along Farm and Dairy to show Mr. Galt just what he was missing.
California has so many interesting and fun places to explore. Highlights of a trip by Gene and Leona Huffman from Graham, N.C., included visiting the vegetable growing areas of Salinas, Calif., as well as the northern Redwood coastal area.
Visiting family is sometimes the best kind of trip and one Farm and Dairy loves to experience. Gene and Leona Huffman from Graham, N.C., brought along Farm and Dairy when visiting Gene’s cousins, Gary and Stephanie Stewart, both from Canton, Ohio, and Don and Helen Stewart from Knoxville, Tenn. The group met at the Switzerland [...]
Who doesn’t love international travel? Even better is international travel with devoted readers of Farm and Dairy. Such is the case with Phyllis Savage from Dellroy, Ohio, when she visited Lucerne, Switzerland, with her husband. Both Phyllis and her husband have been loyal readers of Farm and Dairy for more than 30 years.
Talk about taking Farm and Dairy higher and higher! When (pictured left to right) Tim and Sue Mizer from Roaming Shores, Ohio, and Mary and Larry Wilson from Anthem, Ariz., traveled to Maui, Hawaii, they visited the Haleakala Crater. With a 10,000-foot elevation, Farm and Dairy loved the experience. Thanks for taking us on the [...]
National parks are a blast and Farm and Dairy loves to visit them when it can. When John and Carol Mangun from Carrollton, Ohio, traveled west to explore the Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks, Farm and Dairy jumped at the chance to go. One of the best parts was seeing the Tunnel View El Capitan [...]
Traveling in groups is great fun. So, when a pack of friends decided to head south to the Biltmore mansion in Asheville, N.C., Farm and Dairy was a natural tag-along. Pictured left to right are Marilyn and Homer Althouse from Winona, Ohio; Janet Hays from New Garden, Ohio; Barb Amon from Hanoverton, Ohio; Edith Petersen [...]
Loyalty is hard to come by. Jim and Norma Shroyer from Fresno, Ohio, have been farmers for thirty years; loyal to their profession. They have also been subscribers to Farm and Dairy for thirty five years; loyal to fine reading. So it makes sense when they traveled to San Antonio, Texas, and visited the San [...]
With winter fast approaching, we are all going to have to get used to the colder weather. Farm and Dairy took the initiative and tagged along with Frank and Barb Wudkwych, of Hickory, Pa., when they traveled to Alaska on a cruise. Without a doubt, Farm and Dairy is now prepared for the upcoming winter [...]
We love to soar to new heights. Such was the case when Barry Traver and Angie Manley, both from Lower Salem, Ohio, traveled to Daytona Beach, Fla., and visited the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. With 203 steps, and standing 175 feet it is the tallest lighthouse in Florida. Thanks for bringing Farm and Dairy along!
Taking risks is part of the game, and Farm and Dairy is always ready for a new. So when Corrie and Charley Adams from Bessemer, Pa., decided to visit Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, the day before Hurricane Earl hit, Farm and Dairy was eager to go along for the trip. Everyone got out in time. I [...]
Traveling to foreign tourist spots is a blast, especially when the spots belong to famous creative minds. While visiting Prince Edward Island, Canada, Glenn and May Raymond from Kinsman, Ohio, (pictured left) with friends Bob and Betty Force (pictured right) from Newton Falls, Ohio, took the time to see the childhood barn of Lucy Maud [...]
Anchors away! Be it land, air or sea Farm and Dairy is always up for an adventure. When Dave and Nancy Detling of Barnesville, Ohio, traveled to Branson, Mo., they brought along Farm and Dairy to see the sights and sounds. One highlight was visiting the Branson Belle on Table Rock Lake.
Susan Mellish and Scott Nutter brought Farm and Dairy along while visiting Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, Pa. recently. They also stopped by Hershey, Pa. and saw The Museum on Chocolate Avenue. We hope they brought us along for that too!
