ROOTSTOWN, Ohio — Because equipment and farm needs change, the two locations of Miner’s Tractor Sales Inc. have witnessed makeovers since they were purchased to change right along with their customers.
Steve Miner, purchased the Edinburg store — formerly Bishop Tractor Sales — in 2004 and added the Canfield location in 2007.
Miner’s Tractor offers New Holland ag equipment, haying equipment and material handling equipment sales and service. Both locations carry everything between a compact tractor to tractors with 175 horsepower. In addition, both locations have a selection of good used equipment.
The dealership sells Hustler, Scagg, Gravely and Landpride zero-turn mowers.
In addition, Woods and Landpride equipment is also available, as well as EZ Trail, New Holland construction equipment, Dolmar chainsaws, weedeaters, trimmer and Boss snowplows.
Plus, Miner’s Tractor carries a wide variety of in-stock parts for many pieces of equipment.
The biggest accomplishment for Miner’s Tractor in 2008 was acquiring the New Holland Construction line of equipment. The dealership now sells backhoes, wheelloaders, skidsteers and mini-excavators. With this development, comes the opportunity to serve a whole new line of buyers including townships and municipalities.
Miner’s Tractor also attributes this past year’s success to the Parts Bonanza Sales held in March and November and its presence at area county fairs.
“We look forward to seeing our customers every year at these events,” said owner Steve Miner.
Miner’s Tractor has coped with the recession in a positive way, Miner said. The stores have witnessed customers buying parts to repair their equipment a lot more and bringing in equipment for repairs as opposed to purchasing new.
Although the recession may have kept some customers from purchasing, New Holland has released more financing options for new equipment and the dealership is working hard to help the customer with other low-interest rate financing options for other equipment.
The winter service special offered by Miner’s Tractor has been such a hit this spring, another mechanic was hired to help in the shop. In addition, the dealership has increased the parts stock so that when a customer needs a part, it is available.
