Life on dairy farms in the 1970s proved to be a very good time, indeed. I was too young to know it, but I recall the feeling that things were going well. Even salesmen who called on our family dairy farm seemed to have a skip in their step, even as my dad sent them on their way.

Judith Sutherland, born and raised on an Ohio family dairy farm, now lives on a 70-acre farm not far from the area where her father’s family settled in the 1850s.
