RICHMOND, Ohio – The Edison FFA chapter honored its members and special guests at its annual spring banquet May 11.
Senior members David Byers and Misty Sayers took top honors with the Star Chapter Degree, given to the most active seniors. Freshman Ed McConnell received the Star Greenhand Degree for being the most active first-year FFA member.
The chapter also honors an adult each year for helping make chapter events successful throughout the year. The chapter honored Rich Wilinski, Edison High School principal, with its Honorary Chapter Degree.
Treasurer Aaron Workman reported the chapter sold 650 boxes of fruit with a profit of $4,200.
FFA Adviser Jim Dawson awarded FFA Alumni scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing an agricultural related career. David Byers, Gary Hayes and David Cooper each received a scholarship to attend the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute. David Williamson received a scholarship for fish and wildlife study at Hocking Technical College.
New officers inducted were: Caitlyn Corso, president; Jacob Crawford, vice president; Jamie Lamantia, secretary; Ed McConnell, treasurer; Bob Lynch, reporter; Daniel Cline, sentinel; and Matt Haas, student adviser.
