A roundup of 4-H news for the week of July 10, 2014

BURTON, Ohio — During the Sew Sew Sweet 4-H sewing club’s June meeting, a member brought up her idea for her community project. She is collecting sewing materials for the kids in Africa who cannot afford all of these materials for clothes.

The club would appreciate if you would donate some fabric, seam rippers, easy patterns and thread.

The group is excited for the fashion show in July and is looking forward to the beginning of fair.

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — Maddy Schupp and Lauren Sproul were selected to represent Tuscarawas County at the Ohio 4-H State Leadership Camp at 4-H Camp Ohio, June 2-6.

The participants were chosen by the Tuscarawas County 4-H Extension Program based on their demonstrated leadership potential.

Maddy Schupp is the daughter of Todd and Jackie Schupp. She is a member of the Safe Shots 4-H Club, Indian Valley FFA, Buckhorn Buckshots 4-H, Tuscarawas County livestock judging team, Tuscarawas County junior fairboard, and is the 2014 Tuscarawas County Pork Producers Queen.

Lauren Sproul is the daughter of Troy Sproul of Uhrichsville. She is a member of the Boots & Chute 4-H Club and Tuscarawas County livestock judging team.

The Ohio 4-H State Leadership Camp has been delivered every summer since 1946.
