A roundup of 4-H news for the week of Sept. 3, 2009

WELLINGTON, Ohio — The Penfield Partners 4-H club met Aug. 19. A motion was passed to pay for fire retardant to be used to spray the home economics booth at the fair.

Jessica, Amanda and Mia did demonstrations.

The club met Aug. 22 at the fairgrounds to set up the booth and do animal barn decorations.

Members were reminded to put money in the jars for penny wars.

The next meeting will be held at 8 p.m. Sept. 9 at Kathie’s house.

MINERVA, Ohio — The M-Town Clovers 4-H club met Aug. 24 with 10 members in attendance.

Members discussed the best of 4-H night.

Honor forms, secretary and treasurer books were turned in.

Demonstrations were given by Kevin Cogan on how he remodeled his ’84 pick up truck and Megan Kindelberger on hand washing.

Cogan also gave a safety talk on table saw safety and Kindelberger gave a health talk on healthy tips in cooking.
