Ohio EPA gives Stoll Farms the green light

COLUMBUS — Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a final permit to allow Stoll Farms Inc. to expand its dairy farm located at 6818 Coal Bank Road, Marshallville, Wayne County.



The permit will allow Stoll Farms Inc. to expand the farm to include 2,790 new lactating and dry cows; 130 nursery calves; and 975 heifers and calves, bringing the total number of dairy animals at the farm to 4,945.



The permit also applies to the storage, collection, treatment and land application of manure generated by the farm. The permit specifies that 1,869 acres is required to land apply the manure. Stoll Farms has approximately 2,070 acres available for that purpose.



The permit does not allow discharge to any waters of the state.
