- 1/2 margarine, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Melt butter or margarine over low heat. Remove from heat and mix with brown sugar and salt. Mix in oats and baking powder. Press onto greased 9×13-inch cookie sheet. Bake at 400° until melted together and lightly brown, about 8 minutes. Watch carefully! Cut while hot.
A crispy yet chewy combination of oats and brown sugar. Makes 2 dozen cookies.
