Hello from Hazard!
One more reader sent in a response on Item No. 888, the heat diffuser used on cookstoves to prevent scorching and burning. Good to hear from Betty Peoples, of Carrollton, Ohio, who still has the one her grandmother used (and Betty confesses she’s 89!). That’s a warm keepsake, that’s for sure!
And two more readers wrote in to second the responses that Item No. 889 was a bog, or swamp, show for horses to keep them from sinking in mud or muck field conditions. Thanks, Richard Johnson, of Johnstown, Ohio, and Ken Harding, of Bentleyville, Pa.!

But we had no guesses on Item No. 890, sent in by Dave Cover, of Cortland, Ohio.
