Hazard A Guess: Week of June 17, 2004.

Hello from Hazard!

Gary Hanlin of East Springfield, Ohio, was the brave one – the only reader to respond after several weeks of featuring Item No. 713.

Gary says it might be a nut buster, used to split a nut when it can’t be removed from a bolt. Sounds good to me, and since no one else sent us a note, we’ll just say you’re right! (I guess I still have to ask if anyone can confirm or refute Gary’s answer… )

Since we’re still out on a limb with mystery items, let’s roll with another unknown: Item No. 714.

This was submitted by Jim McKeen of Bethany, W.Va. Does anyone know what it was used for?
