BEAVER, Pa. — The Beaver County Agricultural Land Preservation Board is accepting applications for the next round of agricultural conservation easements through Dec. 31.

Since 1995, the board has purchased easements on 27 farms, totaling 2,933 acres in Beaver County.

An agricultural conservation easement is the negotiated difference between the nonagricultural fair market value and the agricultural fair market value. If the landowner accepts the board’s offer, it then goes before the state board in Harrisburg for final approval.

If any landowner of 50 acres or more is interested in applying, more information is available from the Agricultural Land Preservation Board at the Beaver County Courthouse, 810 Third St., Beaver, or by calling 724-770-4429.
