ALBANY, Ohio — The Alexander FFA helped put on a Thanksgiving meal at the school, consisting not only of the FFA but also health and intervention classes.

The gathering allowed the students to mingle with one another, and allowed them to appreciate the hard work and devotion it takes to put on such an event.

On Nov. 14, members competed at the annual trapshooting competition. Members that attended included Adam Turner, Courtney Keefer, Ben Smith, Alan Stalder, Mariah Simms and Chase Meeks. The participating members were successful and the team received a trophy.

The Alexander FFA has received the trap shooting trophy four consecutive years.

ASHLAND, Ohio — This Thanksgiving season the Mapleton FFA donated food to help those less fortunate. Many students brought in nonperishable foods, such as canned corn and beans. Other chapter member bought turkeys and hams.

JEROMESVILLE, Ohio — The Hillsdale FFA chapter competed Dec. 2 at the sub-district parliamentary procedure event.

The parliamentary procedure event tests students’ ability to effectively communicate ideas during a meeting. Components included a general knowledge of parliamentary law, a 16-minute demonstration of parliamentary procedure, oral questions and written minuets of the demonstration.

The senior team placed first overall. The team included McKenzie Stimmell, Kelsey Eberly, Kristin Deter, Hannah Shock, Sarah Bookman, Michael Schuck, Morgan Austin, Stephanie Schuck, Matt Zimmerman, Dylan Mullins and alternate Ashlee Cutlip.

Hillsdale FFA also had three classes of junior parliamentary procedure teams that competed at sub-district level. Team B placed first Tema A placed third and Team C placed fourth.

These teams included Team A: Coral Nelson, Ashlee Cutlip, Alicia Blouin, Lee Burkholder, Dex Rogers, Kib Runkle, Brianne Evans, Jacob Stitzlein, Morgan Finley and Chase Linscott; Team B: Matt Zimmerman, Sarah Bookman, Taylor Lawhun, Emily Vangilder, Aaron Maki, Beth Steele, Andrew Keets, Dilon Strine, Austin Bright and Cole Bachmann; and Team C: Brandyn Mullins, Rachel Martin, Summer Hensel, Megan Miller, Renae Raubenolt, Kristina Stoner, Richard Sheaffer, Gavin Stoops, Tara Moffet, Dakota Crawford and Avery Paul.
