INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Hoosier farmers will have an opportunity to experience first-hand how their grain crops make their way down the Ohio River on the fourth annual Ohio River Barge Tours Sept. 1.

The Indiana Soybean Alliance (ISA) and Indiana Corn Growers Associations (ICGA) are coordinating the free educational tours again this summer with opportunities to board barges in Jeffersonville, Ind., or Louisville, Ky.

Free tours

These free barge tours will provide farmers the opportunity to tour the Ohio River while tracking how grain moves after harvest.

While on the tour, participants will experience the mechanics of river transportation, hear local business owners explain how they utilize the river, and discover some history of the area. Interested participants can register online at www.indianasoybean.com/barge, or call 800-735-0195.

Pre-registration

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. The Ohio River Barge Tours are organized by the membership of ISA and ICGA.
