Lots of new faces on ag committee

WASHINGTON — The new House Committee on Agriculture will sport many returning representatives, but at least on the Democrat lineup, 11 are freshman legislators.

Committee chair Collin C. Peterson, Minnesota, announced the House agriculture committee members for the 111th Congress last week. On the Democrat side, members include 11 freshmen and 17 returning members. The House Republican Conference has named 17 lawmakers to serve on the committee and has left one seat vacant.

The 28 Democrats who will serve on the committee are:
