The environment in which a turkey is raised can have an impact on how it tastes on the dinner table, according to The Business Journal.

The turkeys raised at Meadowhawk Farm in Champion, Ohio, are fed an all-natural mix and are left to graze in rotating pastures at will. These turkeys don’t have the fat content that other turkeys have, and their meat has a different texture.

Between the two breeds of turkeys that the farm raises — heritage and bronze — the heritage are sought after by chefs for their taste. The turkeys sell for a slightly higher price than grocery store turkeys, but during the holiday season, the turkeys still sell due to their quality.
