George S. Simon, 84, of East Palestine, Ohio, passed away Dec. 1 at his home with his family by his side, following an extended illness.

Mr. Simon was born July 10, 1926, in Boardman, Ohio, the son of Marshall and Freda Simon. Mr. Simon graduated from Boardman High School in 1944 and was a graduate of The Ohio State University.

Mr. Simon was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, who was also a graduate of Boardman High School and The Ohio State University.

Through the years, Mr. Simon was member of the Fairfield Township Ruritan Club, a Columbiana County Fair Board member, served as a director for the Columbiana Milling Company and later for the Carrollton Farmers Exchange.

Mr. Simon was both a director and agent for the Springfield Township Mutual Insurance Association and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Springfield, Ohio.

Mr. Simon is survived by his only brother, Don, Carmel, Indiana; and three sons, Phil Simon, Olathe, Kansas; Lee Simon Salem, Ohio, and Dan Simon Unity, Ohio. George also is survived by six grandchildren and one great grandson.

Memorial services will be held Dec. 26 at 3 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Springfield, where the family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers any donations be made to either the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 13519 Woodworth Road, New Springfield, OH 44443 or the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
