KIDRON, Ohio — In its 20 years, K & M Builders, Ltd., has expanded from one crew to five crews. It was founded by Dan J. Miller after working in the building industry for 30 years.

He has eight sons working for him, as well as sons-in-law and even grandsons.

They build pole buildings for agriculture, residential and commercial applications, post-frame construction, and homes and office buildings.

Office manager Robin Massie said some changes have taken place in 2006, with Dan bringing in two more sons to the office as salesmen.

Several other new employees complete the team.

“The main key to K & M Builders’ success would be our customers. We have great customers and many we work for every year. Our customer’s satisfaction is our main goal, and repeat and referral customers point to our growth,” said Massie.

“Being a family-oriented business, we make our customers feel they are part of our family, also. This sets us apart from cookie-cutter builders that treat their customers as dollar signs.”

In order to stay competitive, K & M Builders tries to stay up on latest innovations in the farm industry. Also, current building trends are studied to see if they will work with current practices.

Massie said new building codes in the pole building business keep them on their toes, plus “many of our customers are affected by changes in the farm industry.”

K & M Builders keeps a close eye on the farm industry to help customers make informed decisions in animal confinement.
