CANFIELD, Ohio — Restoration tools? Yes, you’ll find them at TP Tools & Equipment. But when you stop at TP Tools, 7075 state Route 446 in Canfield, you also discover they do more than just sell tools.

The folks at TP Tools are also serious antique car collectors and have a full-time restoration shop to restore, service, and maintain their personal antique cars and trucks.

They use and test the latest restoration tools and equipment in this restoration shop. If the tool doesn’t perform or pass their test, then they simply don’t sell it.

As a result of this testing, you can always be confident that the tools you purchase from TP Tools will make your restoration project faster, easier, and more efficient.

New building. In 2009, TP Tools completed a new auto collection building that is dedicated to the display of their restored vehicles. The 40-by-80 building can house over a dozen vehicles, and in front of this building is a cobblestone driveway for outdoor display during the summer.

TP has everything from classic cars to antique trucks — originals and modifieds — and visitors can stop in to see these vehicles.

You can also see these vehicles online, at www.tpcarcollection.com.

TP’s Auto Collection building is open to the public Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., free admission.

Restoration tools. TP Tools offers one of the region’s best kept secrets, an antique showroom with more than 5,000 square feet of display area full of everything and anything that you will need to restore your antique car, truck, or tractor.

You will find air compressors, sandblasting cabinets, paint systems and spray guns, welders, buffers and detailing, engine cranes and stands, parts washers, metalworking equipment, auto body paints and supplies, parts and accessories — all displayed with antique oak counters with beveled glass tops, old brass cash registers, ceiling lights from the Cleveland railroad station (circa 1920), carousel animals, antique signs, huge oak beams, and tin ceiling.

Experts. At TP Tools, they know tools. TP Tools has been supplying restoration equipment to the antique car and tractor restoration market since 1975.

When you are restoring an antique vehicle or tractor, remember that TP Tools is not only a major distributor of restoration tools, equipment and supplies, they are also “experienced restorers” — they know how to win trophies and can guide you in your restoration. They can help you decide exactly what type of equipment you should use, based on the size of your project and your budget.

TP Tools supports customers through their free tech line, 800-321-9260, where you can get immediate assistance. It’s just their way of doing business, and they plan to keep it that way.

TP Tools local showroom is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You can also call to request a free 164-page color catalog.

Everything that is in their catalog or website, www.tptools.com, is normally in stock. The new auto collection building is open only on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. However, if you are driving a long distance, call ahead and they can arrange for you to see the auto collection during business hours. Since the display building has glass windows on three sides, you can always view the cars from outside as well.

Call 800-321-9260 to make arrangements. Local phone is 330-533-3384.
