LISBON, Ohio — The Eastern Ohio Grazing Council will host a Grazing Workshop July 24 at 6 p.m. at the Duane Nickell Farm, 12575 Y Camp Road.

The family will discuss how they rotationally graze their spring calving beef cow herd on this Columbiana County Farm.

Topics will include electric fence charging and zone fencing, livestock handling facility, distribution and options for livestock water, management tactics for invasive species control and the challenges of grazing reclaimed strip mine soils.

Those interested are asked to RSVP by July 18 to Jefferson SWCD at 740-264-9790 or online at http://bit.ly/EOGCEvents.

EOGC pasture walks are normally held the fourth Thursday of the month, April through October, on various farms throughout Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Jefferson, Stark and Tuscarawas counties.

The Eastern Ohio Grazing Council strives to promote the conservation of soil and water by growing and grazing forages and serve as advocates for sustainable and environmentally sound grazing practices. If you would like to attend any of the 2025 events, contact Wendee at wzadanski@jeffersoncountyoh.com to be added to the mail or email list.
